I love my family. I feel very lucky to have them and count my blessings everyday. It is why we’ve survived nearly a year shielding, and similarly, a year of home-schooling. We’ve been feasting on Banana Bread for treats, but this month, we decided to try something new on an almost weekly basis. This week Vincent (my 9 year old son) and I decided to try Mars Bar Squares. You can find the recipe on Just So Tasty.
Vincent loves baking – or if we are totally honest, he loves watching me bake, and then eating the finished treat. I do try hard to involve him as I can see a passion under there.

Mars Bar Squares

It’s raining rice crispies. Vincent wanted to pour out the rice crispies. We needed three cups, and got three cups, plus a table-top full, but the three kitties were happy. Chocolate chips disappeared, and we didn’t quite have enough to begin with, but we pretended we did. If a small boy can’t enjoy a sneaky chocolate chip whilst baking, then there’s something really wrong with the world of baking.
This is a really easy, no bake, treat. Stephen, my husband, was just as excited as Vincent, if not even more so. We made six square (plus some off cuts), two each. Vincent and I saved one for later. They didn’t even touch the side for Stephen. They were there, and then they were gone.
This is certainly a treat for the family. I hope you’ll go and try these awesome snacks. If you do, drop by on Social Media or drop a comment below to let me know what you thought.
